Sacramento County Sheriff Training Unit’s Location

Located off of Highway 50 at the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Training Center.  Take Highway 50 to Watt Avenue off ramp, go North on Watt over the American River and take “American River Drive” off ramp. Proceed east to Sandbar then right.on Sandbar to  Riverwalk Drive is the second left turn. (look for the Sheriff’s Training Unit sign!)..  .

Crime Scene Investigation & Reconstruction

  • This is a 60 hour course in 6 days!
  • February 25- March 2, 2013
  • April 1- 6, 2013
  • August 26-31,2013
  • September 30- October 5, 2013

Crime Scene Investigation and Reconstruction will be offered in Santa Rosa California at the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Training Room located at Los Guilicos (off Highway 12 at Pythian Road) MARCH 4-9, 2013.  POST Plan III registration fee is  $526. To register send a departmental request providing the students name, POST ID#, email contact informtion and supervisor confirmation to rynearsj@yahoo.com.  Contact phone number is (916) 849-0587.  Student should bring a basic crime scene kit and camera.  This class has long hours, numerous mock scenes and will present a full 60 hours of instruction in 6 days. Bring an ID kit to process 4 scenes and hearing protection for the range. (Rain or shine)!

Crime Scene Investigation and Reconstruction will be offered in Modesto California from January 21-26, 2013 at the Sanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.  POST Plan II registration fee of $526.  Student should bring a basic crime scene kit and camera.  This class has long hours, numerous mock scenes and will present a full 60 hours of instruction in 6 days. Bring an ID kit to process 4 scenes and hearing protection for the rangeRain or shine!

Advanced Reconstruction & Major Scene Logistics will also be be offered in Santa Cruz.  Dates have yet to be determined but will be posted here when established.  Presentations at your (CA) agency are POST Plan III, with a registration fee of $453.

Bloodstain Pattern interpretation will be offered in Santa Rosa California at the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Training Room located at Los Guilicos (off Highway 12 at Pythian Road) May 13-17, 2013.  POST Plan III registration fee is  $438. Students should bring full protective clothing such as tyvek suit for use during class.
